knitting w/cotton string

The hardware store sells basic cotton string in a couple of weights. The lightest is for parcels, cooking, and has a one pound test weight.  When I started knitting,  grabbed a ball of this that was sitting in the junk drawer and did a wash cloth

and then experimented with a string bag for produce at the grocery store

Right now, it is hanging in the pantry with about 4 lbs of onions and apples in it.  This morning they both got thrown into the washer – hot water – then into the dryer.  Yes they shrank, but its not like they don’t fit.

The bag needs some refinement in the way I make it and its dimensions, but over all am pleased and will now make a purchase of a BIG ball of cotton twine.
