Have finished my bag and its pretty cool. Have also done a nice washcloth in the new cotton twine I bought.  RIght now its sitting in hot coffee getting blocked and dyed at the same time.

This leads to my question.  Of all the homesteading magazines, books, blogs and web sites I read, rarely does anyone get into any kind of needlecraft.  If one is going to be self-sufficient, one needs to know how to at least REPAIR your own clothes, better yet, make them.  There are magazines on knitting, sewing, weaving, crochet, etc.  But the bottom line is, people who have been shopping in stores all their lives need a little guidance!  Also shoe repair.

Okay, so asking this question here won’t get me much in the way of answers.  Will start posting this query out and about.
