finally – planted alliums

Every year I seem to get to this later and later.  Planted 35 cloves of Persian Star garlic, 20 of Siskiyou purple, some shallots and three different onion sets.  The bed wasn’t big enough for it all, so the shallots went into a grow bag.

Then, planted six each seedlings of romaine lettuce and spinach.  They have hoops over them so I can easily pull a frost blanket over.  Am going to do the water bottle thing under there too, and hopefully, get some greenhouse grade plastic over the hoops before it turns really cold.

Now have to get the rest of the garlic peeled and chopped and preserved for the winter.  Then its time to make the dinner – fresh lettuce from the greenhouse for the salad. Yum!
