summer canning

IMG_1016The first of the season’s strawberries.  Don’t grow my own. At this time of year take advantage of the really cheap ones in the market; can and dry for over winter.  First dozen 1/2 pint jars.  Blueberries today.  By the time winter comes, some of these mixed into my morning granola is just a bit of summer sunshine – and no sugar, no salt, no preservatives.
