garden update

IMG_1104 (800x600)In general, the garden is looking lush.  The spaghetti squash is doing well, with two fruit harvested and four more out there.  There is time for more and if I get another five it will be good.  Some onions are still in the ground, with green beans on either end of that bed.  Most of the in ground tomatoes are starting to pop up and fruit.  Only hope we have enough season left for a harvest.  Have been harvesting the romas, almost 2 dozen so far.  I split and seed them then roast. Skin and freeze.  When enough are ready, will process.  They will probably be done and gone in time for a fall planting of lettuce in those bags.  have to start some seeds for that soon.  There are also some anaheim chilis on the plants.  These will be dried and used for seasoned salts

IMG_1105 (600x800)The screening on the zucchini corral has come down. Earlier it helped keep them moist. now the rains are here and its getting TOO wet in there.  Plants responded immediately, spreading out.  Should get some more fruit from these.

IMG_1106 (600x800)This is the squash bed.  The bush zucchini are starting to reach the end of their productive lives.  one died out and has been pulled already from this end.  follow that path up and to the left to get where the new raised bed has been located.

IMG_1107 (600x800)The Nangua at the other end of the bed.  One fruit already forming.  The original plan was to let these spread out as the bush zucchini played out.  Working.  The empty place was where another plant got pulled minutes before the picture was taken. Bet with a few days that will be filled with nangua!
