APHIDS

With our monsoon season possibly behind us, the sun has come out once again, the weather is noticeably cooler, and the Cocozelle (bush zuchinni) plants started in August are overrun with aphids!  Its the first time I’ve seen such an infestation of zukes!!  Being the end of season, am not particularly worried about it, although did go out with my basil soap spray and hit them.  My concern is more that they’ll get on my clothes and be transferred to other plants that are still producing.  Will make them the last plants I take out of the garden also.  Still, picked a couple of zukes which will probably share with the neighbors (along with one of those incredible yellow tomatoes.)

Have to watch the temps now, and things will take longer to ripen.  But that’s the way of it in the fall
