potatoes

Yesterday cooked the last of the harvested potatoes from this season.  These were all grown in containers.  Previous years, ground termites had gotten into them and once I got this years cleaned up, found that too be true again.  This year I’d put down a piece of landscape cloth AND elevated the grow bags, but the termites found them anyway.  The only container that didn’t get attacked was a solid plastic pot with an attached tray.  Guess that fooled them.

Unfortunately, there were not a lot of flowers on the plants this year, so poor potato harvest.  Will try to accumulate more of the appropriate type of containers for the future.  Know I said I’d stop trying, but fresh potatoes from the garden are just SOOOO DAMN GOOD!!!
