makin’ bacon

Well, not quite.  Making sausage more accurately. Use an electric grinder; an LEM 575 watt unit actually.  am looking to upgrade as it has PLASTIC gears and have already broken them once.  its been repaired, but its not quite right.  No, don’t raise my meat, have to buy it.  at least this gives me control of the quality!  made 8 lbs of sausage, and it has less than 2% fat.  and until you have had FRESH ground hamburger, you cannot imagine how good it tastes (of course, if you are a vegetarian, it is no matter).

IMG_0165 (768x1024)Yes, I use plastic bags to wrap and freeze.  Should there be a day with no power, it will all get canned . . . .
