Last fall planted 25 bare root Asparagus plants.  The fall weather was mild and about 3 of them shot up right away and I let them be.  With the early warm weather we’re having, 22 have put up shoots so far.  Though these were supposed to be Third year plants, which means I could harvest, since 19 of these are single shoots, decided to let them go.  One plant has put up four shoots, two others two each.  Everything else is singles.  Hopefully this will improve next year or this is going to be an awfully expensive failed experiment!

Yes, I can recycle the soil and grow bags for other ventures, but the plants themselves cost over $100!!
